Compared two cheap webcams for my work from home setup and the $30 one was way better than the $45 one.

The $45 one had all these features listed on the box but the picture was grainy and it kept glitching during Teams calls, while the $30 one just worked perfectly from the start and the audio was clearer too - has anyone else found that paying more for a brand name doesn't always mean better quality?

Yeah the part about "all these features listed on the box" is exactly what got me before. I used to be the guy who would just grab the pricier one thinking it had to be better but after getting burned on a $60 Logitech that had worse low light performance than a $20 no name brand I totally changed my mind. Now I read real reviews and compare actual video samples instead of just looking at the specs on the package.

Dude yes! That Logitech thing happened to me too. I swear they just bank on the brand name and package it with flashy jargon that sounds impressive but doesnt mean anything in practice. Now I always check Youtube for side by side comparisons before I buy anything. Another thing I learned the hard way - look at the return policy before you order. Some sites make it a nightmare to send stuff back if the camera is trash in your actual lighting setup.

Wait, so you're telling me you actually dropped $60 on a Logitech webcam that got beat by a $20 no-name brand? That's wild man. @richard_young80 I respect that you actually checked the video samples after, because so many people just look at the box and think theyre getting something premium. But yeah, those cheap cameras sometimes have better sensors under the hood than the big names bother with. Makes you wonder what else theyre cutting corners on with their higher end stuff too.
