Found a box of old fidget spinners at a garage sale last weekend
I was digging through a dusty bin in someone's driveway in Dayton and pulled out 12 fidget spinners from 2017 still in their packaging. The lady selling them said she bought them for $5 each when they were everywhere and now they sit in her basement. Is there actually a market for this stuff once the hype fades or is it just landfill waiting to happen?

Why would anyone want something that was literally everywhere three years ago?

Honestly same. It's wild how people act like something being popular automatically makes it worthless. Just because something was everywhere doesn't mean it wasn't good. Things get popular for a reason, you know? And now that the hype died down, you can actually enjoy it without the chaos. Feels like people just want to be contrarians sometimes.

3 million downloads in its first week, and people acted like that was a bad thing. I get what you're saying, simonk98, but I have to disagree a little with @amyh12 here. There's a difference between something being popular because it was actually good and something being popular because everyone else was doing it. Three years later, most of that stuff aged like milk because it was just a trend. You can still like it, but don't pretend the hype didn't inflate its value way beyond what it deserved.
