Frozen yogurt shop near my house that went viral on TikTok is now a tax prep office
I drove by "YoGo Crazy" the other day to grab a cup of their mango tango flavor, and the sign was gone. Replaced by a H&R Block. This place had lines around the block in summer 2023, people driving two hours just to film the swirl machine. Now the owner is probably back to working a regular job. Has anyone else watched a social media darling disappear like that in your town?

Three months of content for a whole generation of TikTok foodies who would have just driven past the same swirl machine on a slow Tuesday ain't nothing, that's a solid run in an era where attention spans clock in under 10 seconds. The H&R Block is probably making more cash off people's tax anxiety than YoGo Crazy ever did selling two-dollar cups of mango tango to influencer wannabes. Honestly, the viral bubble was always gonna pop, at least the dude got a full summer of free marketing and a better lease than the mattress store next door.

Dude same thing happened with that bubble tea spot "Boba Bae" near me. They were all over Instagram for like 3 months with those fancy cheese foam tops and now it's a mattress store. Social media hype is fake, people move on to the next thing in like a week.

3 months and it turned into a mattress store? That's wild. I thought those cheese foam places were supposed to be the next big thing. Guess people just take one picture for the 'gram and never go back. Social media hype moves so fast it gives you whiplash. You blink and the whole trend is dead and buried. Makes you wonder how many of those hyped up spots are even real.
