Remember that guy who went viral for the 'I'm just a kid' vine? Saw him on a podcast last night.

He was talking about how he got a few thousand bucks for a mall appearance in 2014, but now he's a plumber in Omaha. Said the hardest part was when people stopped recognizing him at the grocery store. It's wild how fast that world moves on. Anyone else see a viral person from years ago living a totally normal life now?

That guy's plumbing job sounds more stable than mall appearances.

Used to look down on day jobs for artists, but pat_murray53 is totally right. Seeing a guy from a band you loved now running a successful plumbing business hits different. That's real security, not chasing a few hundred bucks at a dying mall. Makes you respect the hustle way more.

Yeah that whole thing is so real. I had a buddy who was in a meme that got huge for like a month, got a free trip to LA out of it, and now he's an electrician. He said the weirdest part was just having that piece of your life feel like it never even happened, like it was a dream. Honestly seems like a solid way to handle it, get a real skill that pays the bills. The internet fame thing is such a crazy bubble that pops fast.

See it all the time with local bands that were big for a minute, now they're just fixing cars or teaching gym class.
