The 14 month old viral dance challenge I still can't stop performing in my kitchen
Back in March 2023 I learned this silly dance from a TikTok and now I do it every time I microwave something. My neighbor caught me through the window last Tuesday and gave me this weird look that finally made me stop and think. I've been doing this routine longer than most trends last, and I have no idea why it stuck. The song is 3 years old now and the moves feel dated, but my body just defaults to it. Maybe it's because it was the first thing I learned during a really boring week at my route. Has anyone else found themselves still doing a dead trend out of pure muscle memory months later? How do you break that loop without feeling dumb for even caring about it?
My buddy Mark still does the floss dance every time he opens his fridge. He told me it started back in 2019 and he cant stop. His wife filmed him doing it at 2am last month while grabbing cheese. He said breaking the habit feels like losing a weird friend. Real talk. He only stopped when his dog started joining in. Then it got too embarrassing.
