The viral '12-3-30' treadmill trend wrecked my knee, now everyone's parroting it

Honestly, I did the 12-3-30 incline walk for 2 weeks straight and my patellar tendon screamed for a month, but the fitness influencers who blew it up never mention form or starting slow. I see people in my gym hopping on that same setting without any prior conditioning, and I just want to ask, has anyone else gotten hurt from a trend that nobody bothered to fact-check the long term effects on?

The incline itself is only half the story, nobody talks about the speed. 3 mph is a brisk walk on flat ground, but at 12% incline it changes your whole gait pattern and slams your knees if you don't have the hip strength to stabilize. The real issue is the trend treats it like a one size fits all number, when the actual load depends on your height and leg length too. A 5'2" person and a 6'2" person are not doing the same workout at that speed and grade, that's the part that gets ignored.
