A gallery juror in Kansas City said my AI-assisted piece needed a credit line for the source photos, and I pushed back at the time
I told her the photos were just reference, same as any painter using a snap for a landscape. She said the model memorized the style of the photographer I pulled from, so it wasn't just reference anymore. I didn't agree at the show, but I went home and pulled up my prompts and yeah, I'd typed the photographer's name right into the tool. Now I either shoot my own refs or name every image that goes in the tool, and I put that in the show notes too. The juror was firm but fair, even if I hated hearing it at the time. Curious what other folks do when a model spits out something that looks a lot like one artist's body of work.
