Can we talk about how I used to defend AI art until I saw a real artist's sketchbook at a coffee shop in Portland

Watching her fix a single eye angle with one pencil stroke hit me harder than any AI output ever has, and now I'm questioning if I was just fooling myself about what 'creating' really means, has anyone else had that wake up moment when you saw the actual human process?

Hated admitting it at first but yeah... seeing someone actually build a drawing from scratch made me realize I was just fooling myself. There's something real about watching the process, the mistakes, the little fixes that AI just skips over.

It's everywhere now, not just art. People skip the cooking process with meal kits, skip the fixing with disposable clothes, skip the actual conversation with quick texts and reactions. We're trading the messy middle for a clean end result and losing something real in the trade.

Oh, it's like we've traded real connection for easy shortcuts everywhere lately.
