Comparison: Commissioned artist vs AI, 6 orders showed me the real difference

I run a small D&D token business on Etsy. Last month I got 6 requests for custom character portraits. I sent 3 to a human artist I've used for years and did 3 with Midjourney myself. The AI ones took 15 minutes each and cost nothing extra. The human ones took 4 days each and cost $60 each. But the human ones got 5 star reviews with comments like 'exactly how I pictured my warlock.' The AI ones got 3 stars and one person asked if I even read their description. People can tell when there's no soul in it, even if they can't explain why. Has anyone else seen this pattern where speed wins but quality of connection loses?
