I finally see why artists hate style mimicry after last month's commission

Last month a client showed me an AI image that copied my exact brush strokes and color palette from a piece I sold in March 2023, and it honestly felt like someone stole my handwriting. I used to think AI art was just another tool, but seeing my own style twisted into a cheap print for a $15 Etsy listing made me understand the anger. Has anyone else had that moment where a fake version of your work made you rethink the whole debate?

Man, guess that means my art's officially basic enough for AI to copy now.

@jordan_hill nah man, AI copying just means your style's clear enough to stand out, that's a compliment not a dig.
