I finally started using AI as a rough draft generator and it helped my art block

I paint fantasy landscapes for a living and hit a wall about 6 months ago where I couldn't come up with new compositions. Everyone in my art group said using AI for ideas was cheating and would ruin my style. But I got desperate and tried feeding MidJourney a few keywords like "purple swamp with ruins" just to get quick thumbnail ideas. I ended up using maybe 10 percent of what it spat out, but those 10 percent gave me angles and color combos I never would have thought of myself. I still paint everything by hand from there, no tracing or copying. My customers haven't noticed any difference and I'm actually producing more work now. Has anyone else found a middle ground that keeps both sides happy?

Feel like you're still feeding the machine your own creativity though... that 10 percent you keep is the part a human should have come up with themselves.

Yeah @ivan_harris I actually used to think the opposite but you make a solid point.

Feel like you're still feeding the machine your own creativity" sums up how everything from recipes to playlists is taking the human out of the equation these days.
