My feeds before and after AI art started flooding them night and day difference

I follow about 30 artists on Instagram and 6 months ago my explore page was full of their sketches and WIPs. Now it's like 70% AI generated pieces with perfect lighting and zero soul. One artist I followed for 3 years posted a rant about losing 40% of her commission income since January. Have other people noticed their favorite creators posting less too?

30 artists and your feed is suddenly a robot art gallery. Real cool. Guess we all just gotta sit here and pretend 8-fingered hands and glowing cleavage are the future of art. The worst part is watching artists either quit or cave and start pumping out the same slop just to pay rent. Really inspiring stuff, this is definitely how I wanted creative culture to die.

Right? Didn't it feel like overnight the whole app just flipped into this weird factory of the same shiny AI stuff? I saw a friend get 5 times the likes on a robot face she messed with for 10 minutes than on a painting she worked on for a week. It's just sad watching people give up on their own ideas because the algorithm won't show them unless they play along with the machine stuff.

Hey @stella22, do you think the people liking those AI faces even realize theyre looking at something generated in 10 seconds, or do they genuinely think its original art? Seems like the algorithm is training viewers to prefer fast slop over real skill, which just punishes anyone trying to actually learn. Would be curious to hear if your friend felt pressured to switch or if she just got tired of competing with the robots.
