Shoutout to the Etsy artist who showed me AI art references vs. her originals
She posted side by sides of her watercolor pet portraits next to AI generated versions claiming to be hers. Over 8 months I watched her sales actually go up because people appreciated the human texture more, not less.

Man people are finally realizing real messy art hits different than perfect robot stuff.

Isn't it wild how we went from everyone trying to make their stuff look flawless to finally admitting that the good stuff is usually a little rough around the edges? I've been saying this for years (not to be that guy), but the art that sticks with me always has this raw energy to it. You can feel the person behind it, you know? Like they were actually trying something and not just running a filter or a preset. Perfect art feels dead to me, like it was made by a machine even if a human touched it. Give me the wobbly lines and the smudged paint any day, that's where the life is.

Drove me crazy watching people defend AI art at first, but now it's so obvious why handmade stuff sticks around. Same thing happened with a local potter I follow - she showed her wonky mugs next to perfect AI ones and her sales jumped like crazy. Have you noticed people actually paying more for the messy ones now?
