That art school portfolio review that flipped my view on AI tools

Back in 2019 I was dead set against any digital shortcut in illustration, thinking it cheapened the craft. Then I watched a student at the Rhode Island School of Design use an AI generator to rough out 40 composition ideas in 10 minutes, then hand-painted the one that worked. I still think the final product needs a human touch, but using AI for the boring early brainstorming feels different now. Has anyone else had a specific moment where your opinion did a 180 on this?

Oh man, a friend of mine used to swear by hand-drawn storyboards for commercial work. She finally caved and used an AI tool for a tight deadline, and now she uses it for first drafts on every project just to save time.

Yeah same, I swore I'd never use it and now I'm on my third revision.
