Tried using AI to generate a background for my comic page and it came out looking like melted plastic

Spent 4 hours tweaking prompts for a simple city skyline and every single result had windows bleeding into the sky or buildings that curved like they were melting. Has anyone else tried feeding AI a reference sketch and gotten back something completely unrecognizable?

Oh come on, you're just not using it right. I fed Midjourney a super rough stick figure sketch of a character holding a sword and it spat out something that looked like a professional concept artist drew it. The trick is to feed it a really clean reference and stack a ton of style keywords in the prompt, like "photorealistic, sharp edges, straight lines" and keep the image weight high. Maybe your sketch was too messy or you didn't tell it enough what you didn't want.

Betty's right, clean references matter way more than people think.
