Unpopular opinion: I actually saw something good happen at a local art fair
Ngl, I was fully expecting the usual doom and gloom talk about AI taking over. But this time, a bunch of real artists were actually selling a lot of work and getting real commissions. There was even a booth that made a point of having a sign that said 'no AI pieces here' and people were really into it.

The spring art fest in Portland that @ryan793 mentioned sounds wild. A line for handmade pottery? I never see that at local shows. People arguing over the last mug is next level, makes me think the anti-AI thing is really working. Good for those artists getting real sales.

hey was that near you? my town's market had the same vibe last weekend, every booth with a "human made" sign was packed. felt like people were really hunting for the real stuff again.

My friend Chris was at the spring art fest in Portland and said the same thing. He saw a pottery booth with a 'hand-thrown only, no digital crap' sign that had a line out the front. People were actually arguing over who got to buy the last mug, which never happens at those things. It feels like a real pushback against all the AI stuff flooding online markets. Makes me wanna go check out local shows more often.

Totally, it's like people are craving that physical proof of human skill. @felixm29 is right, seeing a line for a mug is a big deal. It shows buyers want a story they can hold, not just another perfect digital file. The artist's fingerprints in the clay actually add value now. This shift could really help local art scenes grow if the demand stays this strong.
