A guy in Tampa said skip the resistor on zone 4, and it cost me a whole Saturday
He ran a shop down there for 15 years and swore resistors on every zone were overkill for a small house panel. I skipped it on a 6 zone job and got tamper faults every time the AC kicked on. So who is right here, do you always resistor every zone or only when the run is long?
Skip the "small house equals no resistor" rule, that Tampa guy was wrong because panel size has nothing to do with it. Resistors stop electrical noise on the line, so AC units, fridges, and LED lights can all set off tamper faults unless every zone gets one.
