Compared wireless to hardwired sensors on a tricky install in Denver and one was clearly better
I had this big house in Denver last month where the walls were all thick concrete and plaster... the wireless signal kept dropping out. After 3 hours of troubleshooting, I swapped to hardwired sensors and it was night and day. The install took longer but the system didn't have any false alarms or dropouts. Just cleaner overall once I got the wiring run through the attic. Has anyone else run into this with older construction homes?

Wait, three hours of troubleshooting before trying wired?

Oh I get it, three hours of troubleshooting is basically a rite of passage at this point. Some people just really hate the idea of a cable running across the floor, even if it would save them an entire evening. And honestly, once you've already spent that long diagnosing something, the sunk cost fallacy kicks in and you feel like you can't give up. Plus, if the wifi finally works after all that effort, you feel like a genius. But yeah, it's usually just stubbornness dressed up as problem solving.
