Customer asked me to install a panel in his chicken coop, got way more than I signed up for
So last month I get a call from this guy in Fayetteville who wants a basic motion sensor setup in his backyard coop. I figure easy money, right? I show up and he's got 14 hens and one very protective rooster named Kevin who apparently hates anyone in work boots. I'm running the wire along the fence and Kevin just launches at my ankle, full sprint, spurs out. The owner is just laughing saying 'oh yeah he does that to everyone.' I finished the job with my ladder barricaded around me like I was in a medieval siege. The sensor went off three times while I was packing up because Kevin kept walking in front of it. Charged the guy $200 and he tipped me $40 cash to 'not mention this to his wife.' Has anyone else dealt with animals trying to take out an installer mid-job, or am I the only one who's been ambushed by poultry?

Heard a story once about a guy doing a dishwasher install who got cornered by a house goat that kept eating his wire strippers. At least your attacker was just the rooster, not a whole flock. You handled it smart with the ladder, though I bet Kevin owns that yard now.
