Had a debate with a coworker about wireless vs hardwired sensors

Last Wednesday we spent 3 hours arguing over whether wireless sensors are reliable enough for a big commercial job. He says hardwired is the only way to go, but I think wireless has gotten good enough with the newer tech. What’s your take?

Ugh that's such a tough one, I feel your pain lol. Wireless has come a long way but I get why people still trust hardwired more for big jobs.

Building on what you said, I actually think wireless has gotten to the point where it's fine for most home stuff unless you're doing something super demanding. Like if you're just printing or browsing or streaming video, it's totally solid these days. But yeah for big office networks or heavy data work I still see people running cables because it's just less headache in the long run. You don't have to deal with interference or signal drops when the walls are thick or there's a ton of devices fighting for bandwidth. It's kind of a safety net thing too, hardwired just feels more reliable when you absolutely cannot have it go down during a big project deadline or something.
