Hit 100 false alarms at the same house in Bellevue
Got a call from a regular client, the motion sensor in their sunroom kept tripping. After the 100th trip in a month, I went back and found their new pet parrot, Mango, had learned to mimic the system's beep and was setting it off by squawking at the sensor. What's the weirdest thing you've found causing a persistent false alarm?

That parrot story is wild. Had a case where a loose floorboard would creak and vibrate just right to trip a glass break sensor.

Honestly, I used to think those sensors were pretty foolproof. Reading what anthonys60 said about the floorboard really changed my mind. It shows how a tiny, normal thing in a house can set them off. Makes you wonder how many false alarms happen from stuff like that. Tbh, it's a good reminder that tech can be tricked by the real world. Now I get why people complain about them being too sensitive sometimes.

Wow, that makes me wonder if the sensors are picking up on sounds we can't even hear.
