Old lady insisted on a fake camera, changed my whole pitch

Did a panel swap last month in a retirement complex near Dayton and this one resident begged me to install a dummy dome instead of a real one, said her cat knocked the last unit off the wall. I did it just to keep the peace, but now I wonder how often we're chasing top specs when clients just want something that looks secure. Anyone else run into customers who prefer the illusion over actual coverage?

Three separate times this year I've had folks ask me to just make the cameras visible, not actually working. It's wild how much peace of mind a little blinking red light gives people, even if there's no recorder behind it. I've learned to just take the win when a customer tells me what they really want, because their comfort matters more than my gear specs.
