Old timer in Phoenix told me to stop using foil tape on outdoor sensor boxes
Back in 2018 I was working a job in Phoenix and this guy named Hank who'd been installing since the 80s saw me using foil tape on a outdoor motion detector box. He said that stuff peels off after three summers in that heat and I should switch to silicone caulk instead. I blew him off because foil tape was faster and I had a whole roll. Eighteen months later I got a callback because that sensor was hanging loose and the customer's dog kept setting it off. Had to redo the whole thing and I spent more time on that one fix than I would have just doing it right the first time. Anyone else have a vet installer give you advice you ignored and regretted?

Wait, since the 80s? Like 1980s? That is almost 40 years. That can't be right, Hank would be like 60 years old or something. I guess if he started as a teenager maybe but that is still wild to think about. Does he still use the same gear from back then or has he upgraded at all?
