PSA: check the relay voltage before blaming the panel

A neighbor installer in Charlotte told me he spent 2 trips on a commercial job where a door contact kept testing fine but the system randomly chattered. It ended up being a 24V relay wired to a 12V output that was dropping under load, not the panel firmware. I started carrying a cheap multimeter in my van and checking relay specs before swapping boards, anyone else run into this on access control tie-ins?
