My buddy dropped his phone in a sink and the same part got him back online in ten minutes flat.

Oh @david_reed22 your buddy got lucky with that fix. I had a phone fall into a bowl of soup once, totally gross I know. Rice and a hair dryer did nothing but the part trick saved mine too, took about fifteen minutes. Mine was water damaged from a coffee spill, same issue different drink. Dried it out with a bag of silica packets from old shoe boxes, that actually pulled the moisture out way faster than rice ever did.

Used to think spending that kind of cash on a single part was crazy, but @thea602 you're right, sometimes it really pays off. Saw a buddy try to go cheap and ended up having to buy the whole panel anyway, so now I get it. Having the right thing on hand can save a whole weekend of headache, not just a Friday night call. That peace of mind is worth the extra money when you're already stressed and behind schedule.
