Unpopular opinion: hardwired panels are becoming a liability in retrofit jobs

Honestly, I've been doing swaps on older homes around Portland for about 8 months now. The before and after difference is night and day. Old hardwired systems with phone line dialers used to be rock solid, but now every retrofit I open up has corroded contacts or mice chewed zones. Wireless panels are faster to install and the diagnostic tools are way better. But the other side is signal reliability and battery life. I had a customer last Tuesday whose wireless sensor dropped mid-armed state, false alarm at 3am. Hardwired never did that to me. So the real change I see is the trade shifting to wireless because of labor costs and flexibility, but we're trading away that dead simple, always connected backbone. Is anyone else seeing more callbacks on wireless zones within the first 6 months? Or am I just getting unlucky with cheap sensors?
