Vent: My old boss in Phoenix swore by using 22/4 cable for everything, even low-voltage runs
He said it was 'future-proofing' and refused to stock anything thinner, which meant every job cost more and was harder to pull. I finally switched companies and after six months of using 18/2 for standard sensors, I've had zero callbacks and saved a bundle on materials. Anyone else get stuck on a specific material rule that just didn't make sense?

Actually see his point. Thicker wire means less voltage drop over long runs, and you never know when someone will add a device that needs more juice. It's not always about right now.

Ugh, that reminds me of a guy I knew who insisted on using exterior grade lumber for every single indoor project. Like, buddy, the decking board is not going to rot in the living room...
