Warning: Honeywell vs DSC panels on a big school job in Chicago
I used DSC on a 30 zone school install last month cause the price was right and now I'm fighting false alarms every other day. The Honeywell Vista on the next building has been rock solid for 6 weeks straight. Anyone else find DSC more trouble than it's worth on larger sites?

The Vista is just built different for larger jobs... I had a similar thing on a 40 zone office where the DSC just kept ghosting zones and the Honeywell next door ran for months without a hiccup. It's like DSC can't handle the extra load without something going flaky.

I've been there too and it's frustrating when you spend time on a system and it just starts acting up out of nowhere... ghosting zones is the worst because you never know if it's wiring or the panel itself. That 40 zone job sounds like a nightmare, especially when you've got the Honeywell right next door proving it can be done right. It's like DSC just hits a wall past a certain point and starts throwing weird errors for no reason. I've had clients get spooked by the false alarms too, which makes the whole thing even more stressful. Solidarity on that one, it's not a fun spot to be in when the gear lets you down like that.

Wait, does that mean I should start charging by the ghost?
