Why does nobody mention that one bad zone makes the whole panel look broken
Last Tuesday I was at a house in Mesa chasing a trouble light on a 12 year old panel and burned 2 hours on the keypad and wiring before I tested the door contact on zone 4. That little $3 plunger was stuck open the whole time, and the panel was flashing trouble like the board was fried. How many of you check the cheapest part first, or do you always go straight at the main board like I did?
