A job in a 1970s apartment building turned into a full week of fixing old dryers

Got called to a big complex in Milwaukee for a noisy dryer, but found every unit had the same worn-out idler pulley and belt. Ended up working there for five days straight, just going from apartment to apartment with the same parts. Has anyone else had a single job blow up into a whole building's worth of work?

Man, that reminds me of a time I saw the same weird electrical fault in like six townhouses in a row. Landlord was not happy when I gave him the total.

Talk about hitting the maintenance jackpot.

Maintenance jackpot" feels like the wrong way to look at it, @the_alice. That kind of luck usually means something was ignored for too long. It's just catching up on problems that should have been fixed earlier.

Wait, you fixed the same exact problem in every single apartment?
