Found a surprising stat about dryer fires in a fire department report
Read a local report that said 34% of residential dryer fires start from not cleaning the vent... that's way higher than I thought. Anyone else see numbers like that in their area?

Yeah I read somewhere that buildup in the vent is actually the number one cause, way more common than people think. Scary how fast that stuff can turn into a fire.

Yeah that tracks. My neighbor's dryer vent clogged up last year and the fire department had to come out, it was a whole thing. Makes you want to go check yours right now.

Just picturing the firemen judging his lint trap. Mine's probably a fire hazard too.

Honestly used to skip cleaning the vent for months at a time, thought it was no big deal. Then my dryer started taking forever and the room got super hot. Cleaned it out and found a solid brick of lint, kinda scary. Definitely check yours, it's way more important than I thought lol.
