Fridge job went sideways on Tuesday, found the ice maker line pinched behind the unit and fixed it with a $4 part instead of selling a whole new valve | Appliance Repairers - Vivisector
Did you ever wonder how many people get talked into a whole new unit for something that dumb? My buddy had the same thing happen last month, his fridge was leaking and the guy told him the whole valve assembly was shot, wanted like 280 bucks. He called me instead and we pulled the fridge out, and the water line was just bent behind it, pinched against the wall. We straightened it out and zip tied it so it wouldn't kink again, cost him nothing but a zip tie. He was so close to dropping the cash too, he had the card out and everything. Your $4 fix probably saved somebody a few hundred bucks, good on you for not just swapping parts.
