Guy at the supply house in Tucson laughed at me for keeping a logbook, then asked to copy 3 pages
Stopped in at the parts counter in Tucson last Wednesday to grab a bake element and the older tech next to me saw my logbook on the counter and kind of snorted at it. He asked why I bother writing down every job when the invoice already has the info, and I told him the invoice does not say the fridge was a repeat call or that the dryer vent was crushed behind the unit in 2022. Two days later that same guy caught me in the parking lot and asked if he could copy a few pages, said he had been chasing the same washer error for 3 houses in a row. I gave him 3 pages out of the middle, the ones on drain pump codes, and he stood there reading them for like 10 minutes. I get why people skip it because it feels like homework, but I have closed 4 repeat calls this year just from flipping back a few pages. How do you all keep track of repeat calls and weird model quirks, notebook, phone app, or just memory?
