Serious question, does anyone actually trust those $12 Amazon thermistors or is it just me?
Had a guy swear by them on a Whirlpool fridge in Phoenix and it tested fine for 3 days, then drifted 8 degrees and I had to eat the callback. Are the cheap ones fine for you or do you only use OEM?
That 3 day pass then drift is exactly why I don't mess with them anymore. The spec sheet looks fine but nobody bothers to check what temp range they're rated for, and a fridge in Phoenix is not the same as a lab bench. Saving 30 bucks up front isn't worth a callback and a ticked off customer.
