That tip about freezer drain tubes from a guy on here actually worked
Someone in this community told me to pour hot water down the freezer drain line with a turkey baster to clear ice buildup. I thought it was dumb and would just make more ice. Tried it last week on a 3 year old Whirlpool that was pooling water. Drained right out. I owe that random guy a beer.

I read that same tip on a different forum too and it actually worked for me.

I mean, "I owe that random guy a beer" is a bit much for unclogging a drain tube, don't you think? It's a good tip and all, but it's not like he fixed your car or saved you from a house fire. You just poured some hot water down a hole, which is pretty basic stuff. People act like every little household trick is a miracle these days. But hey, if it makes you feel better to buy him a beer, go for it.

Oh, I used to be right there with you on that one. I remember rolling my eyes at people getting all excited about something like pouring hot water down a drain. But then my own sink clogged up last month and I tried that trick after seeing it online, and honestly it worked like a charm. I was just so relieved to not have to call a plumber or buy some harsh chemical, that I totally get the impulse to say you owe someone a beer now. It's not about the difficulty of the fix, it's about the peace of mind when something actually works.
