Something like that happened to me last month, except it was my 5/16 wrench that vanished. First trip I tore the whole truck apart looking for it, wasted a good twenty minutes. Second trip out, same house, I open the dryer and there it is, sitting right on top of the blower housing where I left it. Now I keep a cheap magnet tray on the lid of my toolbox and drop every tool back in it before I even close the panel. Sounds dumb but I have not lost one since. Costs like eight bucks and saves you a whole callback.
