Can we talk about finally seeing progress on a stubborn stump removal?

I had this big old pine stump on a job site that just would not give up. We ground it down months ago, but the roots kept sending up shoots every few weeks. I've been back three times to deal with it, each visit feeling like a repeat. This week, I went out and there was nothing new, just clean soil where the shoots used to be. It might sound small, but after all that back and forth, it feels like a real victory. I almost gave up and suggested chemicals, but patience won out. Sometimes the slow fixes are the ones that stick. What's a job that tested your patience but ended well?

I mean, is a stump not sending up shoots really a "real victory"? (laughs) That's just the bare minimum of it being gone, after you had to go back three whole times. I get being relieved it's over, but calling it a win feels like setting the bar pretty low for a job.

Why does everything need to be a big debate? It's a stump, not a peace treaty. Let people have their small wins.

But saying it's 'setting the bar pretty low' just doesn't sit right with me. That stump could have been a HUGE headache for months. Finally seeing it gone after multiple tries? That's a LEGIT win. Small stuff like that keeps you going. Why knock someone for feeling good about getting something done?
