Finally realized why my chainsaw kept stalling during live oak work

Been cutting live oaks around San Antonio for about 6 years and always blamed the saw or the mix when it bogged down. Turned out I was running the chain way too loose, I checked it cold instead of after a few cuts. A buddy of mine, Dave who runs a crew in Boerne, pointed it out during a removal last Tuesday and I felt like an idiot. Anyone else have a simple setup habit that took them way too long to catch?
