First time I hit 50 feet up in a single climb without stopping
Been climbing for about 4 years now on and off. Yesterday I had a big red oak removal in a tight backyard near downtown Austin. I tied in and just kept going. When I looked down I was at 50 feet and hadn't taken a rest. Felt good to finally have the endurance and technique dialed in. Anybody else remember their first decent climb that surprised them?

Honestly, my first big climb surprised me too, mostly because I realized I forgot my lunch 50 feet up.

That "I forgot my lunch" moment is too real, I read somewhere that like 60% of new climbers end up hanging on the rope just to eat a granola bar halfway up. @max_cooper21 you handled that better than most, I would've just panicked and climbed back down.

Happened to me too. Had to eat a soggy granola bar wedged against a rock. Felt ridiculous but it beats climbing hungry. That's when you really mess up your footwork. Now I pack two sandwiches and a backup cliff bar. Always.
