I was all about gas-powered blowers until I tried a battery one for a month straight
Honestly, I used to laugh at the guys running around with battery blowers on job sites. Thought they were just for homeowners who didn't want to mess with 2-stroke mix. But after my old Echo finally died last month, I grabbed a Milwaukee 2826 on a whim since I already have their batteries. Man, the power difference isn't as big as I thought. It cleared a 2-inch layer of wet leaves off a 300-foot driveway without even bogging down. Plus not having to deal with carb cleaning and earplugs all day made a huge difference in my shoulders and sanity. Still keeping my gas saw though, not ready to give that up yet. Anyone else made the switch or am I late to the party?

You been living under a rock or just avoiding the cordless aisle at Home Depot? I jumped ship two years ago after my gas blower started sounding like a lawnmower having a stroke. Now I'm out there in my driveway at 7am blowing leaves without the whole neighborhood hating me. Only downside is I gotta swap batteries halfway through if the pile's real thick, but that's a small price for not smelling like exhaust for the rest of the day.

My second battery was dead out of the box, so I'd check that before you need it. Also worth keeping one on the charger while you run the first one down.

Totally agree on checking the spare battery first. I've had two different tools where the second battery was totally dead right out of the box. It's a real pain when you're in the middle of a job and reach for it. Keeping one on the charger while using the other is just smart, especially if you're dealing with wet leaves that take more power to blow. Saves you from having to stop and wait around.
