Thought I could fell a leaning oak in 20 minutes, took 3 hours of wedging

Had a 30 inch white oak leaning hard toward a shed. Figured I'd notch it, drop it clean. Spent 2 hours messing with wedges and a come-along before it finally went where I wanted. Anyone else under estimate leaners and pay for it with extra work?

Oh man I feel that. Had a maple leaning over my garage last fall that I swore would be a 45 minute job and it turned into a whole afternoon of cursing and shoving wedges.

@val_ramirez same here, thought I'd be done in an hour but ended up fighting a leaning oak for three.
