Unpopular opinion: most people pruning oaks in spring are asking for trouble
Saw three guys in my neighborhood last week cutting big limbs off a red oak in 70 degree weather, and I wanted to yell out the window. Oak wilt spreads through fresh cuts in warm months, and the beetles that carry it are active from April through July here in the Midwest. Any of you run into clients who won't wait until winter for oak work?
