Went with the Kask helmet over the Petzl Vertex last month, curious if I made the right call

I had to choose between a Kask Super Plasma and a Petzl Vertex for my climbing helmet, and I picked the Kask because it felt lighter on my head. Did a big removal job in Austin with it and the suspension system was comfy but I kept bumping the chinstrap buckle against my jaw. Anyone else try both and stick with one over the other?

Stuck with the Kask after switching from the Vertex a few years back. That chinstrap buckle thing drove me nuts too, especially on long days where I'd have the helmet on for hours. The Vertex felt like a tank on my head, way heavier and clunkier, but the Kask is so light I barely notice it. I also liked how the Kask's suspension didn't trap heat as bad in the summer here in Texas. You made the right call, the weight difference alone is worth it for comfort on big jobs.

Yeah the weight difference is night and day. Once you go light it's hard to go back.
