Why does nobody talk about how long it takes to hand sharpen a pruning saw?

I spent 2 hours trying to sharpen my Silky Zubat with a file last weekend and barely made a dent in the tooth pattern. Thought I could save $30 on a new blade but my cuts are still ragged. Is there a trick or do you just buy new blades every season?

Honestly just buy new blades, 2 hours is wild for a saw.

Last time I tried sharpening mower blades myself I gave up after 45 mins and just bought a new set for $25. Way less hassle and they cut way cleaner too. I got mine off Amazon and they came in two days.
