Found a 1920s soda bottle in my backyard in Atlanta and it got me thinking

I was digging a hole for a new fence post last month and hit glass about two feet down. It was a clear Coke bottle from 1927 with the city name on the bottom. I always figured my yard was just dirt, but now I realize the whole neighborhood is probably full of stuff people just threw away. Has anyone else in an old city found something like this just doing normal yard work?

You think that's wild? My dad found a whole horse shoe and a rusty harmonica under his azaleas. Makes you wonder what the people who lived there before were up to, like were they just tossing their whole band's gear out the window?

Sounds like a one-man band had a bad day...

Yeah, finding a whole horse shoe is pretty wild. I can only imagine the stories behind stuff like that. People leave the weirdest things behind, makes you feel for the next person who has to deal with it.
