That dig in Arizona where I rolled my eyes at a guy with a rusty magnet and then he pulled up a 1700s Spanish horseshoe from 8 inches down
I was standing there thinking this is pure nonsense, but after he found three iron nails and a buckle in about 15 minutes I quietly grabbed my own magnet and started grid searching, and now I keep a 20 pound pull magnet in my truck at all times: has anyone else had a skeptic-to-convert moment with magnet fishing on a site?

Actually Spanish horseshoes weren't common in the 1700s, they used mules more.

Switching to mules saved me a ton of trouble with rocky terrain.
