Warning: I decided to clean my own gutters and found a 1923 Buffalo nickel lodged in the downspout elbow.

Three full hours of scooping muck from a downspout is a trade I wouldn't take, even for a buffalo nickel. @smith.elliot I get where you're coming from, but a 1923 nickel in decent shape is worth maybe a couple bucks to a collector. Still not a life-changing find, but better than the dry rotted tennis ball I pulled out of mine.

Oh man, I feel your pain. That's a brutal job and you only get the fun of wet leaves and old nails. A single buffalo nickel is a pretty rough reward for all that work. It's like the house is saying "here's your tip." At least it's a full century of grime off that coin.
