Am I the only one who loves getting lost on purpose when traveling?

I always skip the maps and just wander in new places. On a recent trip, I found a cool market that wasn't in any guidebook. The locals were so friendly and showed me around. It felt like a real adventure. What's your favorite way to explore?

My buddy got totally lost in Bangkok once and stumbled into this tiny canal-side market. They were selling these amazing grilled banana things you'd never find in the tourist zones. It makes the guidebook spots feel kinda fake in comparison.
