Bought a cheap $20 router from Best Buy last month and my whole internet fell apart

I grabbed a $20 router from Best Buy last month to save some cash for my home office setup. Three days into using it, my video calls started dropping every 10 minutes and my wife couldn't stream anything in the living room. Has anyone else had a super budget router wreck their whole home network setup?

Oh gosh, I have to push back a little on this one. I know a $20 router sounds too cheap to work, but I've actually had okay luck with low-end gear when my needs are simple. The real issue might not be the price tag. It could be that the router can't handle multiple devices at once, or maybe it's sitting behind a thick wall or near a microwave. I've seen people spend $150 on a router and still have problems because of interference or a bad ISP signal. The cheap ones are limited, sure, but they shouldn't fall apart completely in a few days. Maybe try moving it to a better spot or checking if your internet plan is fast enough for two people streaming and doing video calls at the same time.

Well, you get what you pay for I guess.

Gotta love when "budget friendly" means "break friendly.
