Can we talk about whether you stick with a failing approach or pivot mid-project?

I had to pick between sticking with my original plan on a home renovation or switching gears after it clearly wasn't working. I was rebuilding a deck in my backyard in Austin, and after two weekends, the framing was crooked and the wood was warping from the humidity. I could either keep pushing through with the same materials and hope it leveled out, or rip it apart and start fresh with pressure-treated lumber. I ended up tearing it down and spending another $200 on new wood. It took three more weekends but the final deck is solid now. Has anyone else had to make that call, and did you regret your choice?
